11th YIC 2016: Havlickova make happy Czech Rep., Turkish triumph, Poland and Italy satisfied!

Czech Barbora Havlickova won gold medal at 11th Youth International Cup in the girls race, making happy all the spectators, and also, of course, Czech Athletics Federation, LOC and Autorithies at Jaske Lazne.
Turkish Ahmet Alkanoglu took gold medal in the boys race, dominated by Turkish runners with six Turkish finished in the first seven position!&nbsp,

Poland and Turkey was gold medallist in team girls and team boys category.
Turkey was first in the medal table of the competition with a total of 7 medals (2 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze), second in the medal table Czech Rep and Poland with 1 gold each but great satisfation also for Italy that kept 3 bronze medals.&nbsp,

Wonderful edition with 55 girls and 65 boys started representing 16 Nations.


“In the girls race, in front of Libor Varhanik, President of Czech Athletics Federation, Frantisek Fojit, General Secretary of the same Federation, Lubomir Franc, President of Hradec Kralove Region, Jiri Hradecky, Mayor of Jaske Lazne,and Vladimir Spidla, Eminent Prime Minister of the Cezch Republik, and all czechian spectators, Barbora Havlickova made a perfect race crossing over the Turkish Fatma Bizek in the last five hundred meters in order to win the title at the 11th Youth International Cup clocked time of 19 minutes and 36 seconds.&nbsp,

Second and silver medallist Turkish Fatma Bizek with time of 19:49 and third and bronze medallist Italian Nadia Battocletti with time of 19:57.&nbsp,
In the first ten position finished runners of seven different Nations.&nbsp,
55 girls started and finished the race.
Team competition was very very closed with three Nations in one point different: Poland Team won gold medal with 27 points (Lucjia Wiktorowicz 4., Klaudia Pawlus 10., and&nbsp,Magdalena Swiecka 13.) and &nbsp,Turkey was second with the same points 27 (Fatma Bizek 2., Gulbahar Cetin 11., Tugba Toptas 14. and Selma Isot 49.).
Polish Magdalena Swiecka winning the sprint in front of Turkish Tugba Toptas decided the tie for the title: same time for both athletes but Swiecka finished 13th and Toptas was 14th!&nbsp,
In third position in the team girls result finished Italy with 28 points (just one point of difference): Nadia Battocletti 3. Alessia Scaini 6., Francesca Annoni 19. and Roberta Foco 39.&nbsp,
14 Nations had full team at the end.&nbsp,
In the boys race, Turkey dominated. &nbsp,
Ahmet Alkanoglu was third last year in the YIC 2015 at Smolyan (BUL) and this year he confirmed his quality won gold medal.Turkey sent two full teams for this event and six of the eight Turkish finished in the first seven position.
The group of Turkish run most part of the race all together and at the end the first four places finished with a total gap less then half minute. Winner Alkanoglu clocked 26:19, Orhan Ozturk, second, finished with time of 26:21, Ibrahim Ozevin, third, with time of 26:40 and Veysel Tumincin finished fourth with time of 26:43.
In the first ten only one Romanian Gabriel Bularda (5.), one Italian Edoardo Bozzolo (8.) and two English Elliott Matier (9. team B) and Joseph Dugdale (10. team A).
65 boys started and finished the race.&nbsp,
Turkey – as told – competed with two teams and won gold and silver medals in the team boys competition.&nbsp,
Turkey A team closed competition with 7 points: Ahmet Alkanoglu 1., Orhan Ozturk 2., Veysel Tumincin 4. and Ramazan Bastug 6. kept gold medal.&nbsp,
Second was Turkey B team with 22 points: Ibrahim Ozevin 3., Yusuf Matur 7., Omer Boztepe 12. and Onur Ozturk 26. won silver medal.
On the podium, with third place was Italy with 42 points: Edoardo Bozzolo 8. Marcello Muscetti 14., Belay Jacomelli 20. and Luca Molteni 40. gained bronze medal.&nbsp,
17 teams and 16 Nations were in the team boys results.&nbsp,
Very important was the presence at the opening ceremony of Katerina Valachova, Minister for Education, Youth and Sport of Czech Republik.&nbsp,
WMRA representant (Bruno Gozzelino, ITA, President, Pierre Weiss, FRA, General Secretary, Andrzej Puchacz, POL, Technical Delegate and Council Member, and Tomo Sarf, SLO, Council member) congratuled Karel Skliba, Chairman of LOC and all his staff of TJ Maratonstav Upice for the organisation.&nbsp,
The venue and the date of next edition 2017 is still not fixed, because WMRA have received same declaration of intention but none official application bid: WMRA hopes to be able to finalise this situation as soon as possibile.
